On behalf of the Village Hall Team we are pleased to announce that, apart from one or two minor details, the current phase of improvements to the hall is complete. Over the past weeks a new kitchen has been fitted, the entire building redecorated, the lighting upgraded throughout and the 20-year-old window curtains replaced with modern blinds. As with any similar project the process has not been entirely free of small setbacks along the way, but the team has tackled them with its usual enthusiasm. The next phase, hopefully later in the year, will include improvements to the stage area and to the bar. We are very grateful to Howdens who donated the new kitchen units, fridge freezer and microwave. In addition, we have spent around £8,000 from village hall funds on the decorating, new kitchen floor, window blinds, and electrical work. A commercial standard dishwasher has been ordered to make life easier for hall users. This money, of course, has been raised by supporters and the hire charges from regular hall users. The VH team would like to say a big thank you to you all. We would like to draw your attention to the new dance classes which will be commencing later this month (see overleaf). So, if you see yourselves “skipping the light fandango” then sign up—we are! The team is currently exploring the possibility of upgrading the exterior CCTV. If anyone has any expertise on this matter, and would be able to offer advice, then please get in touch. Finally, we hope to see you all at our next social event on Saturday, 25th February. firstname.lastname@example.org
